Sandra Wagner earns distinction of the American Academy of Optometry.
Sandra Wagner, doctoral candidate at the Institute for Ophthalmic Research at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, supported by Hector Fellow Eberhart Zrenner, has been admitted as Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) during this year’s Academy Meeting.
A panel of leading doctors of optometry reviewed her work and professional credentials prior to the oral exam which, for the first time, was performed virtually. By passing the interview and meeting the strict requirements of the Fellowship, Sandra Wagner now joins optometrists and scientists who are recognized by colleagues for meeting high professional standards and conducting practice-enhancing research in the field of vision and eye care.
Founded in 1922, the American Academy of Optometry is dedicated to advancing the profession of Optometry with continuous, lifelong education and learning and cutting-edge scientific presentations. In addition, the Academy disseminates findings through its official journal Optometry and Vision Science. Fellows of the American Academy of Optometry include a broad range of professionals, the majority being primary eye care practitioners, but also vision scientists or lecturers, and all of them are committed to promoting the optometric practice either via clinical care, education, or research.
Congratulations to Sandra Wagner!
