Institute for Sustainable Chemistry & Catalysis with Boron, University of Würzburg

Agnieszka Nowak-Król is a Junior Professor and an Emmy Noether group leader at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Institute for Sustainable Chemistry & Catalysis with Boron of the University of Würzburg. Her research lies at the interface of organic, inorganic and materials chemistry. Agnieszka’s activities focus on functional chiral π-conjugated organoboron compounds, unprecedented elongated helicenes, boron-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and photoswitches. Her field of expertise also includes synthesis of various functional dyes and their applications in nonlinear optics, organic electronics, photovoltaics and supramolecular photosystems.

She is a recipient of the Hector Research Career Development Award 2020, Humboldt Research Fellowship, Wojciech Świętosławski Prize, Zonta Prize and a number of other scholarships and prizes. She is a member of the Societas Humboldtiana Polonorum, Soltech, and Polish Chemical Society.
