Symposium 2022

3D Printing - Customized and at the Push of a Button

The Hector Fellow Academy invites you to its 7th Symposium, which will take place on July 7, 2022 at 6 pm in Karlsruhe. The public evening event will be dedicated to the topic of 3D printing with applications from the engineering sciences and the life sciences under the title "3D Printing - Customized and at the Push of a Button".

Prof. Dr. Martin Wegener is professor at the Institute of Applied Physics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), spokesman of the Cluster of Excellence 3D Matter Made to Order (3DMM2O), and president of the Hector Fellow Academy (HFA). He will be the scientific host of the 2022 Symposium. Furthermore, the Hector Fellow Academy was able to win Tal Dvir, Professor at the Department of Biotechnology Tel Aviv University (Israel), Director of the Laboratory for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, Director of the Sagol Center for Regenerative Biotechnology, for a lecture. Tal Dvir is working on organs that can be produced in a 3D printer. For the first time, he has succeeded in printing a prototype heart with tissue, blood vessels and chambers. KIT President Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka will give a welcome speech. A professional moderator will guide through the event.

The annual symposia of the Hector Fellow Academy aim at placing current scientific issues in a socio-political context. Discussion rounds promote the dialogue between science and the public and help to initiate forward-looking discourses.

We look forward to welcoming you on site!
